I can't say if many on this list follow the 'geo' blogs, and if not, you many not have heard that Ed Parsons, a senior staff member of Ordnance Survey left last month. He was one of the central figures in the debate over the Ordnance Survey’s licensing regime. He had also been pushing for the organization to launch an API for non-commercial services and to adopt an open source model in some of its projects.
