Le projet EcoGéo (http://ecogeo.scg.ulaval.ca/),  consiste à développer un modèle économique qui permettra de quantifier les flux de données et ainsi de pouvoir évaluer la chaîne de valeur ajoutée du cycle de vie de la donnée géographique à l’échelle de la province de Québec. Il est prévu d’implanter ce modèle économique dans un système logiciel développé pour l’occasion, offrant ainsi des capacités d’analyse spécifiques.

Le projet,  financé par le réseau GEOIDE,  a débuté il y a environ 4 mois et nous organisons un atelier dans le cadre des activités précongrès du Géocongrès (http://www.quebec2007.ca/). <http://www.quebec2007.ca/).>   Nous sommes présentement dans une phase exploratoire pour évaluer quels seraient les approches économiques et les outils les plus appropriés pour mener à bien cette recherche. L’atelier <http://ecogeo.scg.ulaval.ca/index.php?id=8> se tiendra mardi matin 2 octobre de 9h00 à 12h00, salle 204A. Nous aimerions profiter de l’occasion pour que les personnes qui le souhaitent nous fassent partager leurs expériences de cette problématique lors de cet atelier.

The ECOGEO project (http://ecogeo.scg.ulaval.ca/ <http://ecogeo.scg.ulaval.ca/> ), is to develop a socio-economic assessment model for geomatics sector in Quebec, in order to quantify the data flows and then evaluate the value chain linked to the geographic information. We want to integrate this model into a robust and reliable computer tool.

The project, funded by the GEOIDE network, started about 4 months ago and we are presently organizing a workshop during the geoconference 2007 : (http://www.quebec2007.ca/english/index.asp). We are in an exploratory step which consists principally in seeking useful tools for this research. The workshop <http://ecogeo.scg.ulaval.ca/index.php?id=8>  will be held Tuesday, October 2nd from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, room 204A. You can find a program here <http://ecogeo.scg.ulaval.ca/index.php?id=17> . We would like to take advantage of this event to have interested persons in the field who would like to share their experience during this workshop. It is a French spoken conference, but naturally it is possible to speak in English as long as you can understand French.
