Dear Kate,
I have an interest in such matters from my previous life and
publications. Curently however I am the Chief Technical Adviser for a
major Swedish funded programme in Vietnam where we are a little less
sophisticated and certainly not at the cost effective stage for a while
when looking at Performance indicators.
However happy to assist if the opportunty arises.
Cheers,
Don Grant

Subject: [GSDI Legal Econ] SDI performance measurement
Could colleagues point me in the direction of (annual)
performance benchmarks that are being used (or have
been used) with respect to SDI development?
[I'm interested in all sorts of performance
measurement ... of a financial nature, customer
satisfaction, system performance, etc. AND... I'd
appreciate hearing how the indicators were decided
upon.... i.e., interim discussion papers on the topic
would be especially useful...]
[in other words... how are countries measuring
progress on their national SDI strategies on an annual
basis?]
Thanks very much. Regards,
Kate
along these lines.... fyi

Performance benchmarks set for Ordnance Survey
Ordnance Survey's business performance over this
financial year will be measured against six external

results, efficiencies in data collection and supply,
and an increasing focus on online services.
Specifically... the targets are:

dividends of £5.8m for the financial year 1 April 2005
to 31 March 2006
to represent 99.6% of significant real world
features in the database within 6 months of completion
to continuously improve the timeliness of the supply
of our data to customers by processing and despatching
at least 95% of orders within agreed timescales
to achieve cost efficiencies in our data collection
activities averaging at least 5.5% per annum over the
period April 2003 to March 2006.
to reduce carbon emissions from Ordnance Survey
Headquarters by 26% against the base year of 2000-01.
to increase product sales by at least 5% via
customer transactions through Ordnance Survey Options
