Legal and Economic Discussion List:
 
When the GSDI Legal and Economic Committee met in Cairo in April at the GSDI-8 Conference, we agreed that it would be helpful to list the research that people currently are doing (a paragraph about the research, links to papers, and then a point of contact).  The reasons for doing so include: putting a spotlight on the SDI research community, linking people with similar interests, helping students identify potential research topics, increasing access to relevant papers/reference material; furthering a research agenda, etc. 
 
Several people from the meeting in Cairo already provided some abstracts, which you can view at : http://gsdidocs.org/lewg/GII_research.htm
 
You are all welcome to submit an abstract, and I encourage you to do so -- at the very least, consider it free 'promotion' of your work.  Please provide a link to your home page (if you have one) or links to papers/conference presentations that are accessible online. If you'd like GSDI to host a paper for you, so that could be accessed through a link on the GSDI Legal and Ecomonic page, that can be arranged.
 
At the moment, there are about 50 people signed up for the Legal and Economic Discussion list.  It would be great to have descriptions from many of you.  Or, if you just want to share information about some useful reference materials, that too is welcome and will be incorporated into the web page.
