Dear colleagues
You are cordially invited to participate in the Royal Institution of
Chartered Surveyors' (RICS) international Legal Research Symposium 2010,
to be hosted by Paris, Dauphine University, France on 2 & 3 September
2010. I would be most grateful if you could circulate this email to
colleagues who may be interested in attending.
The call for papers can be downloaded from: http://www.cobra2010.com.
As in previous years (London 2006; Atlanta 2007; Dublin 2008; Cape Town
2009) the symposium will take place as part of the international
interdisciplinary RICS 'COBRA' research conference. The symposium is now
a well established part of these conferences with almost one third of
all papers at the most recent Cape Town conference being presented in
the law subject area.
Contributions are invited for the 2010 symposium in Paris. These will
take the form of scholarly written papers for presentation at the
symposium by their authors. All contributions will be subject to prior
peer-review and will also be published in the formal proceedings of the
COBRA 2010 conference.
Contributions should address legal topics affecting the built
environment, or the work or education of chartered surveyors and may
focus on property law, housing law, planning and environmental law or
legal issues affecting the development, construction or management of
land and property. The scope of the symposium is deliberately wide and
will accommodate the maximum possible range of subject areas and
scholastic styles. In view of the international scope of the symposium
comparative studies of the law or practice in two or more jurisdictions
are particularly encouraged. However, all recognized forms of legal
scholarship including doctrinal, theoretical, empirical, or socio-legal
contributions are also most welcome.
In the first instance abstracts of 300 words maximum should be submitted
to j.d.adshead at salford.ac.uk by 2nd April 2010. (Subject to prior
approval of abstracts, full papers should then be submitted by 2nd July
2010).
Please let me know if you would like further information about this
event, or if you would like advice about the suitability of potential
submissions.
With many thanks,
Paul Chynoweth
