  The UN Country Team in Ethiopia comprises of 20 resident agencies and is led by the UN Resident Coordinator (RC). The UNCT has recently finalised its United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) in support of the national PRSP and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
  Under the guidance and direct supervision of the RC, the UN Coordination Specialist supports the RC in his coordination mandate in order to achieve a coherent and effective UN. The UN Coordination Specialist supports the development of common UN strategies and programming under the overall framework of the UNDAF and MDGs and with close linkages to national strategies and policies. The UN Coordination Specialist also ensures that a Human Rights Based Approach is adopted and that appropriate follow up is initiated to Global Conferences and Commitments.
