Project Manager, West Africa Mangrove Initiative (WAMI), Dakar, Senegal
The project will reinforce the Regional Programme for Coastal and Marine Conservation (PRCM)'s efforts related to the conservation of habitats. The operational process of the project involves the collection and analysis of field based and policy-related mangrove information through a diversity of approaches, setting-up a data-base, and diffusion of information from the experiences of a number of on-going national mangrove endeavours with the objective of enhancing cross-national learning and capitalisation. Generally, the project seeks to provide a clear focus and programme for the sustainable management of this unique coastal resource well into the future. Deadline: December 31, 2006.

Chef de projet, Initiative sur la Mangrove en Afrique de l’Ouest (IMAO), Dakar, Senegal
Ce projet renforcera les efforts du Programme Régional de Conservation de la zone Maritime et Côtière en Afrique de l’Ouest (PRCM) liés à la conservation des habitats. Le processus opérationnel du projet passe nécessairement par la collecte et l'analyse de l'information sur la mangrove au niveau du terrain ainsi qu’à l’échelle politique faisant usage d’une diversité d'approches et ayant pour finalité la mise en place d’une base de donnée, la diffusion de l'information sur les expériences des initiatives nationales sur la mangrove dans le but de promouvoir une capitalisation transnationale sur cette thématique. Le projet cherche à donner une orientation claire et un programme de long terme pour la gestion durable de cette ressource côtière unique. Date limite: 31 decembre 2006.
