The Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) is a not-for-profit organisation of the national agricultural research systems (NARS) in the ten countries of eastern and central Africa (ECA) - Burundi, D.R. Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda. The main objective of ASARECA is to enhance sustainable agricultural productivity and economic growth through regional collaboration in agricultural and natural resource management research. Programmes of ASARECA are coordinated by a Secretariat which is located in Entebbe, Uganda. The Regional Programme Coordinator (RPC) for AHI will liaise closely with the Secretariat of ASARECA to advise the Executive Secretary of ASARECA, and through him/her the Committee of Directors of ASARECA on the development, implementation and management of the programme on agricultural research for development in the regionâs highlands. The RPC will work closely with
the programme Steering Committee Members, Coordinators of Task Forces and other ASARECA NPPs in developing an action plan for delivery of the programme.
