The CODATA General Assembly takes place in Beijing on October 25-26, 2006 immediately after CODATAâs International Conference, http://www.codata.cn/2006/index.html. As its contribution to capacity development in the field of science and technology, the National Research Foundation supports one or two young scientists from the previously disadvantaged to attend such formal scientific gatherings by providing the necessary financial support. Should you be interested to attend the Beijing meeting, please apply by providing the SA National Committee (SANC, http://www.nrf.ac.za/services/icsu/codatasa.stm) for CODATA with your CV, indicating specifically any data related interests and/or activities; also indicate your citizenship. Your application should be received no later than July 28, 2006 by Mr. Michael Nxumalo, NRF-ISL, PO Box 2600, PRETORIA 0001 (michael at nrf.ac.za).
