  Senior Research Associate - Coastal Resilience to Climate Change in East Africa 
  The Overseas Development Group/School of Development Studies (based at the University of East Anglia) is looking for a Senior Research Associate (Ref: RA274) to work with Professor Katrina Brown and Dr Sergio Rosendo on a 3-year Leverhulme Trust funded research project entitled ‘Coastal Resilience to Climate Change in East Africa’. The project explores new ways of combining scientific and local knowledge to map vulnerability and assess resilience in coastal social-ecological systems. The research aims to utilise cognitive mapping and GIS to build integrated knowledge models of coastal systems as a tool to assist in making decisions on how best to build resilience and adaptive capacity. The job is a three year post-doc to work on a new project on Coastal Resilience to Climate Change in East Africa. The person required should be strongly inter-disciplinary, have an interest in mental models/ cognitive mapping, local knowledge and (preferably) GIS.
