Subject: First African Union Conference of African Women in Science and Technology (Call for CVs of African Diaspora women in science and technology)

Dear colleagues,
Greetings from the Commision of the African Union, Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology.
The Commission is planning for the above-mentioned conference in August 2007, and has pleasure to request for your assistance in spreading its call for CVs from African Diaspora women in science and technology.
The Commission is aware that in Africa, women are seriously under-represented in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering.
They are an untapped pool of talent and resource that could be called upon to solve the continent's technical problems. The objective of the Conference is to create a platform for African women scientists to deliberate on how African women could more effectively participate in science and technology programmes for Africa 's development.
Please note that only a limited number will be invited and sponsored in this event and selection will be on first come first serve basis. Detailed
CVs should be sent to mashelenih at africa-union.org and copied to: eyobD at africa-union.org
