2nd Anglophone Practitioners Training on Wetlands and Poverty Reduction
5-19 August 2007 
Entebbe, Uganda
Wetlands International on behalf of the WPRP African Training Board announces the call for applications for a training course on Wetlands and Poverty Reduction. This training course is part of a series of training courses being rolled out within the Wetlands and Poverty Reduction project. The main modules were developed in collaboration with various partners such as Wageningen International, UNESCO-IHE, Oxfam America, Kenya Wildlife Service Institute, Foundation for Sustainable Development, Ghana Environmental Protection Agency, Uganda Wetlands Inspection Division and Uganda Wildlife Education Centre through a series of stakeholder consultations and have further undergone processes to ensure their relevance to local contexts. 

The target group for this training are Practitioners [Mid-level professionals (age 30-45)] from various sectors such as , Livelihood issues, Development, Gender based issues, and Conservation either in Government, NGOs, CBOs, IGOs, Training Centres, Universities and other relevant agencies who actually work at the level of projects, or programmes with direct interaction with various stakeholders and communities in wetland areas. 
 
The modules that will be delivered in the course of the training including a field trip are:
- Wetlands and water resource management
- Wetland valuation
- Policy setting and Advocacy
- Financial mechanisms
 
Deadline: 13 July 2007.
