Call for Expression of Interest (EOI): Consulting Services for Groundwater and Drought Management in the Southern African Development Community (SADC)
Ref. No.: LGWMP 005 
The objectives of this EOI are four fold:  
1) To manage and disburse grants to MSc students, local academics and consultants to conduct research on Groundwater Dependant Ecosystems (GDEs) and the valuation of groundwater in SADC Member states.
2) To stimulate regional academic research in support of groundwater and aquifer systems.
3) To raise awareness and raise the profile of GDEs and groundwater in the SADC region.
4) To develop and test methodologies for the valuation groundwater.
The assignment is proposed to start in Nov 2007 and be carried out over a period of 2 years.
 
SADC/UNOPS invites suppliers/institutions capable of providing the research grant management services to submit their Expression of Interest. It is desirable for the organization or institution to have financial and groundwater related professional skills and to have a suitable mix of professional in the areas of research and development, financial and human resources management.  All experts must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities accorded to them.
