Call for proposals: AIRES-Sud - Integrated support for the strengthening of scientific teams of the South
The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs launches the call for proposals for AIRES-Sud - Integrated support for the strengthening of scientific teams of the South. The call is for research teams from the countries of Africa and the Indian Ocean belonging to the priority solidarity Zone (ZSP). The research topics are on development; the initial funding of research will be followed by adapted support phases to dissemination, scientific development, expertise, and training. The deadline for submissions is 30 November 2007.
ZSP countries: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea- Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe.
The Call for tender is aimed at autonomous research teams which belong to research or higher education institutions of the named countries. To be eligible, the teams must comprise of senior researchers, junior researchers and PhD students. The teams’ institutions commit themselves to supporting the teams for the whole duration of the three years.
