IT/DB/GIS Specialist, Nile Basin Initiative, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania & Kigali, Rwanda 
One of the eight projects of the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) Shared Vision Program (SVP) -- the Water Resources Planning and Management (WRPM) project -- is seeking qualified candidates for the national IT/Database/GIS Specialist position. The National IT / Database / GIS Specialist will utilize technical expertise to handle projects for software systems and will serve as the expert in field of specialty to provide recommendations and conclusions of project tasks.  The National IT / Database / GIS Specialist will report to the National DSS Specialist of the country of assignment. 
The initial appointment will be for one year, with a six-month probation period.  Based on performance, the appointment can be extended on a one-year basis through the completion of the project. 
Candidates should have a B.Sc. or higher university degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or other technically related field and at least five years of working experience, with recognized technical expertise in Information Technology; relational database technologies, including database development and Administration; and Geographic information systems.
