1. Physical Geography: Preference will be given to applicants in the field of Climatology with an emphasis on the impacts of climate change. A breadth of experience in geographical techniques, including Remote Sensing, would be an advantage.
2. Human Geography: Preference will be given to applications in the fields of Urban or Environmental Geography. Experience of using and teaching a variety of geographical techniques would again be an advantage.
For the levels of Professor, Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer: applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline with a strong research record, evidence of successful postgraduate supervision and a commitment to excellence in Teaching and Learning at all levels from First Year to PhD. For the level of Lecturer: applicants must have at least a Master’s degree and would need to provide evidence of potential to develop a strong research record, successfully supervise students, etc. The ability to attract funding for research and teaching programmes will be an important consideration.
