Associate Professor, University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji
The Department of Land Management and Development, http://www.usp.ac.fj/landmgmt/, is a component of the new Faculty of Islands and Oceans and offers vocational undergraduate programmes in the core disciplines of Real Estate, Land Use Planning and Geomatics leading to professional qualifications and registration with professional bodies, a postgraduate diploma programme in Real Estate, and Masters/Doctoral research opportunities in fields related to Land Management, Sustainable Resource Management, and the three core disciplines noted above. 
The appointee will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in land management, real estate, geomatics, and land use planning; supervising post-graduate students (Masters and Doctorate levels); undertaking research and consultancy in the land management and/or the three above-mentioned core disciplines; developing courses for presentation in distance and flexible delivery; and liaising with the land management and property sectors (government and private) in member countries. As Head of Department, the appointee will be responsible for the co-ordination of the programmes offered by the department and for its general administration. The position offers exciting prospects for teaching, research and consultancy in a region characterized by both customary and modern land tenure systems and diverse modes of land/resource management.
