The Tenders and Auctions Committee of the Qatar Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA) has announced the following tender: National Mapping Archive Project.
Tender Details:
1. To To scan spool film negatives at 14 micron. 
2. To provide a complete Index and Database of scan and Application for the scans as per the Centre for GIS (CGIS) requirements. 
3. To model, design and create new database based on latest ESRI technology.

This project, to update existing GIS facilities and systems, will cover seven GIS agencies who are members of the National Geographic Information System community of the State of Qatar: Centre for GIS, Electricity (Kaharmaa), Supreme Council of Environment and Natural Reserves, Ministry of Education, Agriculture Information Center (AIC), MMAA, Ministry of Interior (MOI) andStatistical Department, Planning Council. The project is a reflection of the government’s decision to maintain digital maps and keep them updated to keep pace with the significant infrastructure development in the country.
