GIS Specialist, Jalalabad, Afghanistan (for Afghan nationals)
Deadline: March 10, 2007.
- Coordinate with the DAI Home Office GIS Specialist, project managers, technical staff, grants managers and M&E specialists to establish Local Governance and Community Development Project for Eastern and Southern Afghanistan (LGCD) spatial data management capacity.
- Develop and maintain spatial data for the LGCD technical program, specifically for relevant regional offices. This should include information for all program components requiring spatial data.
- Develop and maintain security-related spatial data and provide timely outputs as required by the security manager. 
- Coordinate with the DAI Home Office GIS Specialist to evaluate new options for reporting and mapping.
- Provide regular and timely map inputs into LGCD quarterly and annual reports.
- Develop maps and related graphics for LGCD presentations and publications. 
- Train staff in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) technology, field data collection, survey design and implementation.
