NGA cooperative agreement with Mongolia - gravity and elevation data
NGA and Mongolia Map New Horizons (p.8, March/April 2008 issue of NGA's publication, Pathfinder
The U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) first entered into an exchange and cooperative agreement with Mongolia in 2004. Through this agreement, Mongolia gets access to NGA base data for mapping, use of loaner GIS workstations, and training. NGA benefits as well by the opportunity to collect gravity and elevation data over the country and by gaining access to the latest country maps and geographic names database. In fiscal year 2008, NGA plans to conduct a gravity survey in an extremely remote and void area of northern Mongolia, which will continue to improve the geoid and provide improved topographic modeling of the country.
