National Remote Sensing Analyst, Kabul, Afghanistan
UNODC has been conducting annual opium poppy surveys in Afghanistan since 1994. Every year, the survey methodology is refined, adjusted and adapted to new survey techniques. Satellite imagery and associated survey sampling techniques have been part of the UNODC annual poppy survey, in addition to the village surveys on the ground. UNODC has expanded its regional offices to include 5 provincial offices in Afghanistan, which play a key role in providing UNODC with the latest information from the field, as well as in the implementation of the survey.
Under the general guidance of the UNODC Country Representative and/or her designate and immediate supervision of the International Project Coordinator (IPC), the national remote sensing analyst will interpret and analyze satellite images for poppy cultivation.
Applicants must be Afghanistan Nationals
