Consultation studies on feasibility and implementation of Yemen GIS Unit & Decision-making Support Information Unit
April 11, 2008: GISCON and Consultancy Solutions Ltd. together won a contract from the National Information Center (NIC), Republic of Yemen, to conduct two parallel consultation studies on the feasibility and implementation of two new NIC units. The first is to be a Geographical Information Systems Unit (GISU), which will obtain, hold and organize all forms of geographical information required by Yemeni government departments for governmental purposes. The second is to be a Decision-making Support Information Unit (DSIU) which will provide decision makers with all the supporting information they need - including Geographical information from the GISU - to enable high quality government decision-making.
