The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC(R)) joins GIS Development Pvt Ltd
(India) in a Call for Sponsorship and Participants in the Delhi Transit
Routing Pilot Interoperability Initiative
http://www.opengeospatial.org/projects/initiatives/delhipilot
[http://www.opengeospatial.org/projects/initiatives/delhipilot] . This is a
test bed activity to advance OGC’s open framework for geospatial data and
systems interoperability in the context of transportation planning for the
2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
The Pilot will bring together global and local geospatial technology
providers to evolve best practices and standards for interoperability of
data and processing services related to the transportation domain in general
and routing in particular. The Pilot will also demonstrate the benefits of
interoperability among geospatial systems used by agencies in India’s
National Capital Region, and it will help to shape proposals to build
transportation information systems for use in the region and in India.
If your organization is interested in this initiative, contact Raj Singh
(rsingh at opengeospatial.org [mailto:rsingh at opengeospatial.org] , +1 (617)
642-9372) or Sumit Sen (sumit.sen at gisdevelopment.net
[mailto:sen at gisdevelopment.net] +91 9818447204).
OGC Interoperability Initiatives are part of OGC's Interoperability Program,
a global, hands-on and collaborative prototyping program designed to rapidly
develop, test and deliver proven candidate standards into OGC's
Specification Program, where they are formalized for public release.
