Singapore Land Authority Intelligent Map System
Singapore Land Authority, http://www.sla.gov.sg/ , Singapore’s national land agency, is inviting bids for a project to design, develop and maintain a government-wide intelligent map system.
SLA says it is embarking on this initiative to give both public and private sectors one-stop access to government geospatial content from authoritative sources.
This will be a launch pad for government agencies to build their own map services using an Application Programming Interface (API), through which a common and consistent look-and-feel map interface can be created.
The map system will be a gateway for the private sector to tap into rich government content and mash it up with their own collections of spatial information to create services and support enterprise business needs. Individuals will even be able to use the maps for personal use, for example, on blogs. It will power up mobility and decision-making via desktop and mobile devices.
SLA is inviting the industry to propose innovative solutions. The deadline for proposals is 12 noon (Singapore time) on 17 November 2008.
For more information, contact Lee Wei Choong, lee_wei_choong at sla.gov.sg , the manager of iServices at the Land Information Centre. Tender documents can be downloaded from www.gebiz.gov.sg - search for ITT Ref No IDA(T)-728.
Issued by the Singapore Land Authority on 15 September 2008.
