Safeguards Information Assistant (GIS) (G-6)
Vienna, Austria
Deadline: September 13, 2005.
Under the general supervision of the Unit Head, to contribute to strengthening the Safeguards system by: 
Maintaining the SIAU Geospatial Information System (GIS) and Geospatial Data Infrastructure (GDI), thus facilitating an effective and efficient analysis reporting mechanism; 
Assisting the Information Systems Specialist in GDI system development tasks; 
Performing first level imagery analysis using specific imagery analysis interpretation software; 
Creating vector dataset layers using GIS toolsets for inclusion in the GDI and analysis reports; 
Assisting the Information Systems Specialist in monitoring commercial and open source data providers and managing dataset identification and retrieval of 200+ GIS datasets for use in the GDI and analysis reports; 
Auditing, preparing and converting commercial and open source GIS datasets for importing into the central imagery database server that will subsequently be used in analysis reports; 
Preparing PowerPoint presentations for briefings to the Department of Safeguards staff on various topics associated with the use of GIS.
