This meeting provides an opportunity to meet with the OGCII President, David Schell, and CTO, David Arctur, to discuss the ambitions of this new organisation and to explore how the European GI community might engage with it and influence its research agenda and programme. Participants will

(ii) to discuss how the OGCII might engage with the European geospatial standards and interoperability community, and
(iii) to discuss the research agenda that the OGCII should pursue.
The OGC Interoperability Institute™, http://www.ogcii.org/, is a non-profit scientific and educational organization dedicated to continued improvements in worldwide application of interoperable geoprocessing technologies and spatial data. OGCII's mission is to propose and manage research studies, pilot initiatives, educational programs and infrastructure that help advance the development and adoption of open standards, interoperable solutions, policies and practices that improve society's ability to use geospatial data and technologies to address important social, environmental and economic issues.
OGCII is independent of, but contributes to, the work of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
