Remote Sensing Expert, European Academy Bolzano, Institute for Applied Remote Sensing
The applicant will work on monitoring land-use and land-use dynamics particularly in mountain regions. Typical fields of research are land-use classifications and the identification of land-use changes as a consequence of human impact, natural dynamics and climate change with high and very high resolution optical satellite data. 
The applicant will be responsible for the whole processing chain, from image pre-processing, image classification to image interpretation. 
A strong focus will be set on developing and applying advanced methodologies for semi-automatic land-use classification. He/she will integrate techniques like data fusion, segmentation, object based classification and advanced statistical classification techniques into the processing chain. 
Furthermore he/she will actively participate in developing new project ideas and research proposals on this topic. 
Deadline: July 13, 2007.
