Vacancy for Programme Manager at EuroGeographics Head Office (eastern outskirts of Paris)
EuroGeographics is the association of Europe’s National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs), currently representing 50 members from 42 countries, with a Head Office of 6 staff based near Paris. 
The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager whose are:
- Initiation and coordination of a portfolio of projects and working group activities within the overall EuroGeographics strategy; and,
- Synchronisation of EuroGeographics activities with INSPIRE, standards organisations (ISO, CEN, OGC etc) and other European initiatives such as Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES), Galileo etc.
The ideal candidate will have several years experience, operating at a senior management level, in:
programme and project management, ideally in a decentralised, multi-cultural environment; geographic information standards (OGC, ISO) and services implementation; and, EU developments relevant to the geographic information industry. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including fluency in English;
- Good team player who is able to work both as part of the Head Office team and with the wider network of members, partners and customers;
- Ability to take initiative and decisions within the overall strategy for EuroGeographics;
- Flexibility to adapt to different requirements and cover responsibilities of other team members, including the Executive Director of EuroGeographics;
- Willingness to undertake frequent business travel, mainly within Europe.
The post will be full time permanent position.

Financial terms: Secondees from National Mapping & Cadastral Agencies will be reimbursed for the expenses incurred during the secondment. These include:
Salary and social security costs;
Allowances for working abroad, including accommodation costs;
Insurance;
Travel to country of origin.
In the case of a secondment from an NMCA, an agreement will be signed between the NMCA and EuroGeographics that will formalise the contractual terms and conditions of the secondment. The minimum period of secondment is 3 years.
‘External’ candidates will become full time employees of EuroGeographics and will be paid a salary consistent with the requirements of the post. This salary will be negotiable depending on the skills and experience of the candidate.

A CV covering relevant qualifications, experience and interests.
Candidates applying for the post on secondment from their National Mapping & Cadastre Agency should include also an endorsement from their Agency, including an estimate of costs (covering the financial terms described above).
