[SDI-Europe] French government creates a professional title of "Advanced GIS Technician"

The new professional title of Advanced GIS Technician, made official in July 2007 by the French government, is composed of two components that can be endorsed with certification of professional competence: the first, centers on the design, production and updating of databases, the second,on the use of geographic information systems.

Le gouvernement crée un titre de technicien supérieur en SIG
Le ministère de l'Economie, des Finances et de l'Emploi vient d'annoncer, par arrêté du 16 juillet 2007, la création du titre professionnel de technicien supérieur en système d'information géographique (SIG).
Le nouveau titre de technicien supérieur en SIG se compose de deux unités pouvant être sanctionnées par des certificats de compétences professionnelles : la première, axée sur la conception, la création et la mise à jour des bases de données, la seconde se rapportant à l'exploitation d'un système d'information géographique.
