The Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi) Spring School 2008 addresses advanced GI students (Masters, PhD students) and space is limited to 20 guest students and 10 ifgi students. Within the two weeks, six short block courses, offered by international teachers, provide know-how on innovative topics of GIScience.
Mike Worboys, University of Maine, USA: Geospatio-temporal information: Issues in representation and reasoning. 
Gilberto Camara, Director of INPE, Brazil: Environmental modelling. 
Pragya Agarwal, University College London, UK: Usability and user-centred systems. 
Keith Cheverst, Lancaster University, UK: Location-aware systems 
Patrick Olivier, Newcastle University, UK: Information visualization & presentation. 
Werner Kuhn and Antonio Krüger, ifgi: Research methods. 

The Spring School targets Masters and PhD students and will be recognized with 3 ECTS credit points. The Spring School is free of charge (but participants must cover their own travel expenses -- there are no grants available).
Deadline for applications: January 10, 2008.
