United Nations Joint Logistics Centre (UNJLC) GIS Officer, Rome, Italy (with field deployment)
Deadline: July 2, 2008.
UNJLC ( http://www.unjlc.org/ ) aims to facilitate and support the coordination of logistics capabilities among co-operating humanitarian agencies, as well as complement and support the global and field Logistics Clusters. It is done through the provision of Logistics Information Management, mapping, customs, commodity tracking tools and services.
The GIS Officer reports to the Information & Communication Management Officer under the overall supervision of the Chief UNJLC. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and maintenance of UNJLC's capacity to utilise Geographic Information (GI) products and technologies in support of its mandate.
