Presentations from GI Norden Conference 2011, held in Turku, Finland
GI Norden and Finnish ProGIS organized the 23rd Nordic GIS conference in Turku 
(Åbo), Finland, 8th-9th of June 2011. There were about 85 participants at the 
conference, which was arranged at the University of Turku.  

The conference was opened by Ralph Monö, the new president of GI Norden, which 
was was followed by greetings from the five national members of GI Norden. There 
were three keynote speakers:

Data Infrastructure Unit – Joint Research Centre of the European Commission 
(JRC), Italy

The Open Geospatial Consortium: making standards count worldwide
Steven Ramage, Open Geospatial Consortium, OGC, Norway
