GIS Technician II, Cayman Islands 
The Lands & Survey Department of the Cayman Islands Government (http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky) has a vacancy for a GIS Technician to provide computer-based, cartographic technical skills for the support and maintenance of a national digital GIS. This includes the creation, population, update and maintenance of numerous metadata and dataset/layers of land information related data and the generation of map products for the presentation of cadastre survey and other statutory plans. Candidates are expected to possess a sound educational background and would ideally have a Diploma or Certificate in Cartography. In addition, they must have developing skills in GIS, particularly in relation to digital mapping/cartography.

  GIS Programmer/Analyst

  The Lands & Survey Department of the Cayman Islands Government (http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky) has a vacancy for a GIS Programmer/Analyst in its Systems Development section. The department is the primary repository and management agency for the Cayman Islands National Geospatial Data Infrastructure initiative. In support of this, the Systems Development section is tasked with the deployment of spatially aware solutions to its users - both within government and the private sector. In addition to Systems Development, the department is responsible for delivering services and managing databases connected with Land Registry, Land Valuation & Facilities Management, Land Survey, and GIS Map Production.
  Candidates should have a strong skill set that emphasizes the ability to develop technically sound applications, and for innovative analysis and modeling of the various GIS layers in support of departmental and wider government initiatives and projects.
  A detailed and demonstrable experience in the use of many of the following is considered critical: VB/VBA/VB .NET, ColdFusion, Java, HTML, SQL, SQLServer/Oracle, ArcObjects, ArcIMS9, ArcGIS9 and it's extensions, ArcSDE9, Geodatabase creation/management & manipulation, cartography & map production using ArcGIS9, Windows 2000/XP and associated networking in a client server environment, proficiency in a wide range of MS Office products. Understanding of AML and Avenue would be advantageous.
