  Metadata implemetation specifications (ISO 19139) submitted for publication

  The May 2006 release of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) 19139 schemas, at long last, paves the way for the migration of existing metadata records to the ISO 19115 standard. The official ISO 19139 XML schemas should be posted soon on the ISO web site.  ISO 19115 describes the general content of metadata and the relationships between metadata elements, but it does not specify the structure of the record. Therefore, ISO 19139 was created to provide guidance for how metadata records should be built and formatted through an XML schema.  
  For those that already have FGDC compliant metadata, FGDC has sponsored the development of a free, stand-alone FGDC-to-ISO metadata conversion tool based on the FGDC to ISO metadata crosswalk V.4, http://www.fgdc.gov/metadata/metadata/documents/FGDC_Sections_v40.xls.  Now that the 19139 schemas have been released, the conversion tool should be finalized in the next 1-2 months and will be made available to the community from the FGDC website, http://www.fgdc.gov/.

Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales y quiero ver sobre implementación de la
base de metadatos.
