The Health Analysis and Statistics Unit of Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) assists member countries in the development of health             situation analysis for policy and decision making. The program's purpose is the improvement of country             statistical data and information systems and the collection, validation, analyses and dissemination of             mortality and morbidity data as well as other relevant indicators of health and development including the             Millennium Development Goals.
