Call for Concept Notes - Communicable Diseases in Latin America and the Caribbean: Ecohealth Research for Policy and Action 

The Ecosystem Approaches to Human Health (Ecohealth) Program of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) are calling for concept notes for research on the use of ecosystem approaches to human health in the control and prevention of communicable diseases with a focus on three public health priority vector-borne diseases in the region: Chagas disease, dengue, and malaria. 
 
Latin America and the Caribbean research teams must include researchers from different disciplines (social sciences, health and environment related sciences). Researchers should be affiliated with a not-for-profit organization such as academic institutions, NGOs or governmental organizations.

Deadline for submission of concept notes: 31 October 2006.
