  The Director will have overall responsibility for the administrative and programme operations of the Centre. This will include the coordination and packaging of the University’s disaster management assets into structured training, research and policy guidance programmes; as well as the coordination of its marketable disaster response services.
  The Director of the Centre will be required to have at least a Masters degree, with strong components in environmental planning and natural disaster management and ten years experience at the Executive and Senior Management level which must be complemented by sound knowledge of regional disaster management systems and the operations of relevant stakeholders, and a demonstrated understanding of the international context in which disaster management is being orchestrated.
