22-24 October 2007
Beijing, China
Abstract deadline: extended to 30 April 2007.

The conference includes sessions that ask:
Is remote sensing a substitute or complement to field measure?
How to better measure MDGs, poverty, and hunger in developing countries?
What are adequate metadata, modes of dissemination, and quality?
Should agricultural statistics be responsibility of National Statistical Offices or Ministries of Agriculture?
How would new developments in biometrics, geostatistics, and climate models help forecasts in agriculture?
How to build integrated databases in food and agriculture?

Under the sponsorship of African Development Bank (AfDB), Eurostat, FAO, ISI, UNSD, USDA-ERS, USDA-NASS, and the World Bank, a limited number of travel grants have been established to support participants from developing countries to take part in ICAS-4. Interested applicants can go to the ISI website: http://isi.cbs.nl/wbf/fund.htm to download the “Application Form for ICAS-4 Beijing”. After filling in the application form, submit it to the email address: smha at cbs.nl before the deadline. The priority of the grants is to award to highly qualified participants from developing countries who are among those selected as presenters of papers by the Session Organizers. Other additional criteria can be found on the ISI website.
