Latin American and Caribbean Water Prizes
August 31 is the nomination deadline for the 2007 PLACA Water Prizes. The objective of the Prizes is to recognize and share innovative solutions to some of the most demanding issues related to water management and conservation in the region. Likewise, it seeks to honor outstanding local, national and regional efforts and best practices that serve as examples to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, most of which are water-related.
 
Who can be nominated?  
Any individual, community, Community-Based Organization, business, school, or voluntary group that contributes to the conservation and protection of water resources, and which improves the well-being of inhabitants and ecosystems in Latin America and the Caribbean, is eligible to be nominated.

Premios Latinoamericanos y del Caribe del Agua
El 31 de agosto vence el plazo para la presentación de las nominaciones de los Premios Placa 2007. El objetivo de los Premios PLACA va dirigido a reconocer y compartir soluciones innovadoras en algunos de los temas más preocupantes relacionados con el manejo y la conservación del recurso agua en la región. De igual forma hacer honor a los esfuerzos y mejores prácticas locales, nacionales y regionales, que sirven de ejemplo para alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio, que en su mayoría se relacionen con el tema.
 
Quiénes pueden ser nominados?
Cualquier individuo, comunidad, Organización de Base Comunitaria, empresa, escuela, o grupo voluntario que contribuya a la conservación y protección de los recursos hídricos en beneficio de la salud de los habitantes y el ecosistema en América Latina y el Caribe, puede ser nominado.
