Simposio GEOSS en las Américas, 17-19 de septiembre de 2007, Mangaratiba, Brasil (actualización)

Se invita a todos los miembros de GEO en la región a participar en la planificación de este evento. Se proveerá asistencia para facilitar la participación de expertos de la región, particularmente de países que actualmente no están vinculados con GEO (por favor contacte a: Hilcéa Ferreira, Secretaría INPE: geoss_americas at dpi.inpe.br). Todos los miembros de GEO y las organizaciones participantes, son bienvenidas. GEOSS se está convirtiendo cada vez más en una extensión de los principios, estándares y servicios de las Infraestructuras de Datos Espaciales (IDE), en la comunidad de la teledetección y el medio ambiente. 

Consulte por favor el ultimo borrador del programa (http://www.dpi.inpe.br/GEOSS_Americas/Draft_Program_2007-0806.pdf) y el catalogo (http://www.ipgh.org/download-file/GSDI/GEOSSAmericas-Brazil-Flyerv.2.pdf) que proveen mayor detalle sobre este evento. El idioma oficial del simposio es el inglés, y no se dispondrá de traducción simultánea a otros idiomas. 

El evento se llevará a acabo del 17 al 19 de septiembre de 2007, en el Hotel Portobello Resort & Safari, 100km hacia el sur de Río de Janeiro, en la ciudad de Mangaratiba, Brasil (área de Angra dos Reis).

Updates on the GEOSS in the Americas Symposium, 17-19 September 2007, Mangaratiba, Brazil

(Assistance will be provided to facilitate participation of experts from around the region)

All GEO Members in the region are invited to participate in the planning of this event, and assistance will be provided to facilitate participation of experts from around the region, particularly from countries not currently engaged in GEO (please contact Hilcéa Ferreira, INPE - Secretariat: geoss_americas at dpi.inpe.br). All GEO Members and Participating Organizations are welcome to attend. 

"Members of GEO" are countries, and several Latin American countries are already officially participating in GEO. The invitation is also extended to experts with an interest in SDI and standards who are not currently GEO members in order to improve communication between the SDI and GEO communities.

Please find the latest program draft (http://www.dpi.inpe.br/GEOSS_Americas/Draft_Program_2007-0806.pdf) and a flyer (http://www.ipgh.org/download-file/GSDI/GEOSSAmericas-Brazil-Flyerv.2.pdf) providing more detail on the event. The official language of the symposium is English and there won't be simultaneous interpretation. GEOSS is becoming an expansion of the SDI principles, standards, and services into the remote sensing and environment community.

The event will be held on 17, 18 and 19, September 2007, at Portobello Resort & Safari Hotel, 100km south of Rio de Janeiro, Village of Mangaratiba, Brazil (Angra dos Reis area).
