Senior Lecturer/Lecturers in Geography, University of the West Indies (St Augustine Campus), Trinidad

The Faculty of Science & Agriculture seeks a full time highly qualified, motivated academic to assist in implementation and development of the newly formed B.Sc. undergraduate programme in Geography. The selected candidate will teach geography at the undergraduate level, and play an active role in the further development of the discipline. S/he also will be required to assist in the development of a multidisciplinary research programme in geography, with a distinct focus on the Caribbean. S/he will be required to develop links with both public and private sectors in the Caribbean region in support of both teaching and research programmes.  Academics at an early stage in career development are encouraged to apply. Required: PhD in Geography; expertise in Human Geography. (Interest in the Geography of the Caribbean, Quantitative Methods or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be an advantage); teaching and research in Geography in an academic environment of a tertiary
 level institution is desirable; a publication record of international refereed journals would also be an advantage. Should be able to demonstrate a capacity to develop future research; must be a team worker, with enthusiasm for both teaching and research in the furtherance of the new Geography programme at the institution.
