We have vacancies for three positions at the Water Center for the Humid
Tropics of Latin America & the Caribbean (CATHALAC), in the context of
SERVIR. The positions are based in the Republic of Panama. Descriptions are
posted below - we're looking to hire:

CA-I-2007- GEOSPATIAL SCIENTIST (One year, renewable)

 

The Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America & the Caribbean
(CATHALAC), in the context of the Regional Visualization & Monitoring System
(SERVIR) has a job opportunity for an experienced Geospatial Scientist with
skills and abilities in: 

 

*         Experience using geographic information systems and remote sensing
platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, and ERDAS Imagine

*         Experience in analyzing geographic data to identify spatial
relationships and displaying the results thereof using maps, graphs, or
tabular data.

*         Experience interpreting satellite data

*         Experience producing data layers, maps, tables, or reports using
spatial analysis procedures

*         Ability to work at national and international levels with a wide
range of partners and clients, development organizations, governments,
research institutions and the corporate world.

CA-2-2007- GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (One year, renewable)

 

 

The Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America & the Caribbean
(CATHALAC), in the context of the Regional Visualization & Monitoring System
(SERVIR) has an open position for an experienced Geographic Information
Systems Specialist with skills and abilities in: 

 

*         General satellite and geospatial information management,
experience with remote sensors and geographic information systems programs
(ArcGIS, ArcView, ERDAS Imagine, IDRISI).

*         Demonstrated experience in metadata development (FGDC and ISO
formats) and spatial information infrastructures. 

*         Familiarity with online mapping technologies such as web map
services and web feature services.

*         Ability to work at national and international levels with a wide
range of partners and clients, development organizations, governments,
research institutions and the corporate world.

management and fluent on both Spanish and English. Please send curriculum

The Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America & the Caribbean
(CATHALAC), in the context of the Regional Visualization & Monitoring System
(SERVIR) has an open position for an experienced Geographic Information
Systems Programmer with skills and abilities in: 

 

*         Experience in implementing and managing geospatial data portal
technologies such as the ESRI Portal Toolkit and GeoNetwork solutions.

*         Experience in developing online mapping applications (e.g.
publishing web map services) using ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, and
Minnesota Mapserver.

*         Knowledge of Java, Google Earth, and NASA World Wind.

*         Ability to work at national and international levels with a wide
range of partners and clients, development organizations, governments,
research institutions and the corporate world.

 

The interested parties should have a university degree on natural resources
management. Fluency in both Spanish and English would be an asset. Please
