Latin American Experts in space-based monitoring for natural disaster will be at CRS/INPE in September
Settled in the Southern Regional Center of the National Institute of Space Research, (CRS/INPE), in Santa Maria (RS), the Regional Center of Education in Science and Space Technologies for Latin America and Caribe (CRECTEALC) will promote from 8th to 12th September the "I GEOSS/UN-SPIDER Spring School on Space-based Solutions for Disaster Management and Emergency Response-Flooding"
The event will be held in partnership with the Nucleus of Research and application of Geotechnologies for Natural Disaster and Extreme Events – GEODESASTRES-SUL, created by INPE to support prevention, management and mitigation of natural disasters and extreme events and its consequences using space-based information and geotechnologies.
Designed to Latin American and Caribbean experts, the event will show the current situation of the space technology to natural disasters monitoring, more specifically about flooding, how to identify the best ways for answering emergencies and to discuss about the establishment of expert network about space–based information for natural disaster.
