Report of the Expert Group Meeting on Migration Data Collection, Management and Sharing in the Caribbean,
held 9 November 2007 in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Increased production of migration data and the development of data sharing and dissemination systems is needed to inform forums on migratory movements in the region. These data would facilitate the identification of trends and the generation of forecasts to support programmes and policies to respond to the challenges posed by migration. The meeting organizers emphasized that the main purpose of the meeting was to exchange best practices in the area of migration data management and data sharing in the Caribbean.
