The 5th International Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM2008) consists of 28 
Special Sessions, divided into 7 Themes (Organizations and Society, Systems and Technology, Humanitarian Action, Human-Computer Interaction, Intelligent Systems, Virtuality in Emergency Management, Methods and Modeling). Research sessions accept full papers and research in progress papers while practitioner sessions accept presentations and short practitioner papers. All contributions have to be submitted via the paper submission system at www.conftool.com/iscram2008.  The format for the papers and further announcements are also posted on www.iscram.org.

Important Dates
* December 21, 2007: Paper submission deadline
* February 10, 2008: Notification of (conditional) acceptance
* February 22, 2008: Early registration deadline
* March 1, 2008: Final camera-ready paper submission deadline

In particular, note the Session TECH-03 "Process- and Geo-aware Systems for Crisis Management". This special session will encourage experts in process management systems and geoinformation management to discuss some of the research challenges that have to be addressed to be able to provide effective and flexible crisis information management solutions. 

Topics that will be covered include the following:
- Process management in crisis situations
- Platforms and middleware for process enactment in specific scenarios (on top of mobile devices, back-end GRID infrastructures, etc.)
- Geo-information driven process management
- Process mining
- Adaptiveness
- Coordination models
- Case studies
- Process metrics
- Process models specific for emergencies
