Business Case Workshop(s) for GIS and IT in Canada
This one day workshop deals effectively with the art and science of developing Business Cases for IT, CRM, GIS and other technology programs. The material begins with examining the foundation of the basic concepts for business cases, for valuation and measurement models and for tactics applied to gathering and measuring inputs and results (a.k.a. Costs and Benefits) across the enterprise. The progression from finance concepts such as Return on Investment (ROI), Payback (PB) and Net Present Value (NPV) through to Value, Risk and Impact considerations then on to outcomes, results and marginal benefits is developed within the context of geospatial Municipal, Utility and Business applications. Participants are able to share ideas and experiences with a peer group in an open and objective environment, all the while applying fresh approaches to familiar basics. Exercises enable attendees to list target systems, applications and processes where the GIS project
may have impact in their own environment.
