Making maps work when disaster strikes
In this week's issue of the mainstream magazine Business Week (July 7, 2008), there's an article that highlights the utility of online mapping applications for disaster recovery and response. It mentions GeoCommons, OpenStreetMap, and Mapufacture are three online hubs where people can collaboratively map areas which could help in emergencies.
