The development of spatial data infrastructures requires more than just 
a set of standards or specifications. The development of an operational 
architecture suitable to a given environment may raise many questions 
for which research ought to be conducted and results reported.

I'd encourage GSDI TWG members to use this list to submit brief 
suggestions for research topics -- tough problems to be solved or 
evaluated -- relative to SDI technologies. We can use the list to debate 
and discuss these potential research items and provide ideas for 
academic researchers to hopefully pursue.
